List Organization Strategies

By Source

Create separate lists for different acquisition channels: Website, Events, Partnerships, Social Media, Referrals.

By Product Interest

Segment by what subscribers are interested in: Product A Leads, Product B Customers, Trial Users, Enterprise Prospects.

By Engagement Level

Organize by how active subscribers are: Highly Engaged, Moderately Active, Inactive, Re-engagement Candidates.

By Customer Stage

Track where subscribers are in the customer journey: Prospects, New Customers, Loyal Customers, Churned.

Subscriber Status Management

Subscribed

Active subscribers who will receive emails from campaigns they're linked to. This is the default status for new subscribers.

Unsubscribed

Subscribers who have opted out. They will not receive any emails, and the system automatically excludes them from campaigns. GDPR-compliant unsubscribe handling.

Pending

Subscribers awaiting confirmation (for double opt-in scenarios). They won't receive emails until confirmed.

💡 Best Practices

  • Always clean your CSV files before importing - remove duplicates and invalid emails
  • Test imports with a small batch (10-20 rows) first
  • Use UTF-8 encoding to preserve special characters in names
  • Keep lists organized by purpose - smaller, targeted lists perform better than one giant list
  • Regularly clean your lists - remove hard bounces and honor unsubscribes promptly
